Biography

Angel Rivera is a PhD student in the School of Public Affairs and Administration and a University Graduate Fellow. He holds both a Master of Public Administration (MPA) and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During his time at UNC Charlotte, Angel demonstrated exemplary leadership through his involvement in various university organizations. He founded and served as president of the 49er Improv Club, represented graduate students as a senator and member of the Election Board, and chaired the Public Administration Student Association. 

Angel has extensive professional and teaching experience. He served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, where he instructed students in the R programming language, fostering their quantitative and analytical skills. He also worked as a Program Coordinator at a nonprofit organization, where he oversaw program development and implementation. Additionally, Angel has experience as a Conference Planner, coordinating large-scale events and ensuring operational efficiency. 

His research focuses on Public Human Resources Management, Leadership, and Organizational Behavior, reflecting his commitment to advancing equitable public administration practices.
