Gabe Altenbernd

Gabe Altenbernd is an Ethan Allen and Rosemary O’Leary Family Fellow and graduated from Drake University with a bachelor’s in political science and history as well as a minor in business studies. As an undergraduate, Gabe had several internships with city manager offices, including the cities of Prairie Village, KS, and Lawrence, KS. Gabe also interned with the Kansas City, MO Office of Management and Budget, where he helped plan and organize the city-wide director's retreat with the Strategic Initiatives Analysis. He also assisted with planning and implementing three resident interactive work sessions to hear feedback on the 2019 update to the Citywide Business Plan. In addition to these professional opportunities, Gabe served in various service and leadership roles at Drake, including: president of the Delta Omicron Chapter of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, vice president of education on Interfraternity Council, and student senator representing the College of Business and Public Administration. Gabe is looking forward to working in city management.
