Grant found his passion for public service through employment opportunities in his undergrad with the Center for Community Outreach, Just Food of Douglas County, and the Douglas County Sustainability Office. Grant decided that local government was his calling after engaging the public sector through volunteer management, non-profit development, county sustainability projects, and a year of Public Administration courses.
