Jayme Ruthellen Pickering

Jayme Pickering graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Departmental Honors in English with a concentration in Language, Culture, and Rhetoric. While her initial focus was not in the field of public administration, her participation in the KU Marching Jayhawks, the National Band Fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi, and the online magazine HerCampus allowed her to strengthen critical skills of communication and leadership while reinforcing her passion for service. The classes that served as outlets for experiencing different cultures and histories and acted as avenues for research and discussion consistently inspired Jayme to expand and apply her knowledge. Her open-mindedness, curiosity, and adaptability will be key skills that will shape her journey as a public service leader. Jayme is excited to hone her skills and gain valuable experience through her participation in the City and County Management Fellowship and hopes to start her career in the region, particularly the KC Metro or Colorado.
