Biography

Jordan Jerkovich – an Ethan Allen, Mary Litchfield, and Vanatta Liese Ridgeway Fellow – graduated from Blekinge Technical University in Sweden with a Master of Science in strategic leadership towards sustainability in 2019. He wrote his thesis, “Pursuing Sustainable Prosperity” about the intersection between sustainable development and community economic development in Swedish municipalities. While in Sweden, he also consulted Blekinge county’s transition efforts towards UN Agenda 2030. Prior to getting his master’s, Jordan graduated from the University of Kansas in 2016 with a bachelor of arts in environmental studies and a bachelor of science in business management and leadership with certificates in sustainability and research. He focused his undergraduate research in the field of renewable energy policy, later parlaying his experience into a career in the solar industry before moving to Sweden. Jordan’s professional interests include local transitions towards sustainable cities in the age of climate change and social complexity.
