Biography —
Leah Beatty, an Ethan Allen, Bob and Linda Livingston, and Clara Schneider Perkins scholar, graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Public Administration and a minor in leadership from Park University in December 2024. During her time at Park University, she was a student senator and a Presidential Scholar. Leah also received her Associate of Arts from Metropolitan Community College in May 2023.
Leah began her local government experience in her hometown of Kansas City, Missouri, where she had the opportunity intern with the Planning and Development Division in 2023. During her time with Planning and Development, she gained experience using GIS systems and regulations for environmental compliance. She also was an Intern with the City of Kansas City, MO for the Civil Rights and Equal Opportunity Department in 2024. During this time, she worked within Economic Equity and Inclusion, where she developed data compilation of various business enterprises around the Kansas City Metro. Each of these experiences grew her passion for public service and emphasized her goal of becoming a future leader in local government.
