Biography

Pablo Oropeza, a Richard Chesney and Harry Nalbandian Public Service scholar, is a 2025 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where he earned a B.A. in Political Science and Sociology. As an engaged student, Pablo served as Vice President of Stanford Hall and was a candidate for Student Body President. He also founded Irish for Inclusion, a student initiative that successfully lobbied for Notre Dame’s non-discrimination clause to expand protections for sexual orientation, gender identity, and religion, amassing over 1,500 signatures.

Pablo’s professional experience includes a client strategy internship with Rising Tide Interactive in Washington, D.C., and a legislative internship with the Mayor’s Office in South Bend, Indiana. He also worked on the campaign of Kansas State Representative Dr. Melissa Oropeza, Mathew Kleinmann, and Ephren Taylor III, contributing to voter engagement efforts across multiple election cycles.

Dedicated to community organizing and civic engagement, Pablo serves as Director of Campaign Coordination for the Johnson County Young Democrats and is active in Latinx and LGBTQIA+ advocacy. A native of Kansas City, Kansas, Pablo is passionate about public service, equity, and building responsive local governments. He is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration with a focus on city/county management.
