Biography

Richie Boswell, a Darwin W. Daicoff and Clarence E. Ridley scholar, is a Washburn University graduate with a degree in political science. He is driven by a passion for public service and a belief that government can and should work for the people it serves. Originally from Austin, Texas, Richie began his public service journey in constituent services for Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, helping Kansans navigate complex state systems and access vital resources.

With a professional background in both radio and insurance, Richie brings strong communication skills, a deep understanding of everyday challenges, and a knack for connecting with people from all walks of life. Known for his eccentric, outgoing personality and high-energy approach, Richie thrives in environments where creative thinking and human connection are key. He is deeply committed to showing that local government can be a powerful and effective tool for positive change. Through the MPA City and County Management Fellowship, Richie hopes to expand his impact and help bridge the gap between institutions and the communities they serve.
