Biography

Stuart McCrery is a Mary Litchfield Fellow and graduated from the College of William & Mary in 2020 with a bachelor’s in government.  During his undergraduate career, he explored both local and state government from a diverse range of angles. He organized volunteers as part of the 2017 Virginia gubernatorial election. While living in Williamsburg, he served as an intern at the planning department in James City County, a rapidly-growing locality near the edge of the Hampton-Roads metropolitan area. In 2019, he worked as a research assistant in Virginia Tech’s Office of Economic Development, where he was able to participate in the Rural Virginia Initiative, a program that connected state university resources to promote development in rural localities. In the 2020 legislative session, he served as an intern in the Virginia House of Delegates. Stuart looks forward to a career in public service where he can see the direct impact of his work.
