Zach Markussen

Zach Markussen, an Ethan Allen and Lowry scholar, graduated magna cum laude from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in December of 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English with a writing emphasis. He has been dedicated to helping people his entire life, with childhood career ambitions consisting of firefighter and paramedic. 

In college, an interest in policy and government combined with a growing social consciousness, and together they inspired him to enter the arena of local government where he could focus his mind on lifting people up and improving material conditions for everyone. Through volunteering and internships in his home state of Nebraska, Zach has seen first-hand what good government can do for people.
