Each spring, the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) hosts a graduation recognition ceremony to recognize the Undergraduate, Master, and Ph.D. students who graduated or are graduating during the current academic year (this includes Summer 2023, Fall 2023, and Spring 2024).

The School ceremony is free and family and friends are welcome to join you, but we ask that graduates (guests do not need to register) please register. The form to register will soon be available.

The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences also hosts a master's hooding ceremony, which will immediately follow the SPAA event. It is at 10:30 am at the Lied Center.  That ceremony allows students to choose a faculty member for hooding.  This link will take you to more information about that ceremony

How does hooding work?

Congratulations graduates! You've made it this far, and have just one more thing to do to get that master's degree - hooding! This video explains how to fold, drape, and hand off your hood to the faculty member. Special thanks to our guest stars, Jim Mielke and Helen Sangster!
