Biography —
Alexandria Rinne is an Ethan Allen, Harry Nalbandian Public Service, and Alan E. Sims Fund scholar. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in May of 2023 with a bachelor’s degree with honors in global studies and five diverse minors. Her interest in public service began in the winter of 2020 as she interned for Civic Nebraska and worked to develop a strategic civic engagement initiative for the City of Ashland Nebraska. She continued serving her community by working for the university honors program as the community engagement intern, creating key programming that provided support for incoming out of state students. In the summer of 2022 she worked for Amics Del Nepal in Barcelona, Spain, an NGO that works towards Nepalese immigration settlement and integration in Catalonia. Her final year of her undergraduate studies was spent researching emergency management. She completed a research capstone on emergency management in response to hurricanes in the Caribbean and an honors thesis that promoted using community engagement as a form of emergency management in the rural United States.
