Biography

Alleigh, a Mark Keane, Richard Chesney, and Paul A. Reaume scholar, is a 2018 graduate of Kansas Wesleyan University, receiving a bachelor's degree in communication studies with a minor in psychology. As an undergraduate, she served as Communications Club president, SGA secretary, content-producer/floor director for the school’s student-led online news broadcasts and played on the university’s volleyball team. Upon graduating, she relocated from her hometown of Salina, Kansas to Lawrence where she works as an Administrative Technician for the City of Lawrence's Municipal Services and Operations (MSO) department. Her current duties include serving as the acting member of the MSO Communications and Safety teams, staff assistant for the Multimodal Transportation Commission, and general department representative to the public.  Her work with the city inspired her to pursue a Master of Public Administration degree at The University of Kansas. She looks forward to examining and enacting best practices for achieving functional communication to support the relationship between citizens and promoting transparency in local government.
