Biography

Brad DeMers, a Harry Nalbandian Public Service, Rosemary O’Leary Family, and Darwin W. Daicoff scholar, graduated from Fort Hays State University with a bachelor of science in political science in May. During his undergraduate experience, Brad was heavily involved in the student government association. In the organization, he served as a senator for two years and as president for one year. After he served as president, Brad moved to Washington, D.C. for a summer internship with U.S. Senator Jerry Moran where he assisted Kansans during COVID-19. He has spent his last year at Fort Hays State planning and executing civic engagement events for students and community members in Hays, KS through the American Democracy Project. Brad is looking forward to fostering strong relationships and making a difference through public service.
