Biography

Jimmy Hollar, an Ethan Allen, Clarence Ridley, and Buford M. Watson Jr. Memorial scholar, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Colorado Mesa University in May 2023 with a bachelor's in political science and a minor in criminal justice. As an undergraduate, he was the Chief Financial Officer for the Associated Student Government and a paralegal for Don Bell Law, a bankruptcy firm assisting those in financial hardship.

After graduating, Jimmy started his local government career in the City of Grand Junction. He started as an intern for the Housing Division, helping implement housing strategies and working with the unhoused population and local non-profits. He then completed a year-long fellowship in the Mobility Division - improving walking, biking, and public transit access. Notably, he expanded the Safe Routes to School program by collaborating with teachers and students. Additionally, he volunteered for United Way, recruiting volunteers for local non-profits.

Jimmy has a passion for public service and is hoping start a lifelong career in local government.
