Kawon Song

Kawon Song is a doctoral student at the University of Kansas (KU) School of Public Affairs and Administration. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Special Education and International Studies from Pusan National University. Additionally, she earned a Master's degree in Development Policy with a concentration in Sustainable Development Policy, Public Finance, and Social Policy from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management.  

Before pursuing her Ph.D., Kawon worked as a Senior Research Associate at the Korea Development Institute (KDI). In this role, she evaluated various public and private infrastructure investment projects while conducting policy research to improve the efficiency and transparency of Korea's public investment management. 

Kawon's research interests revolve around urban sustainability, urban governance, community development, and public infrastructure investment. She is particularly interested in studying sustainable urban governance policies that promote community development and address urban poverty issues.
